A place where I can blog anonymously and not give a fuck how anyone judges it. I take photos, I make music, I muse.
I’m going to blog about my really awesome day because I can’t sleep and I want to share my awesome day which I’m sure tomorrow ill be back to pulling my hair out.
So today started with hubby making me and the kids pancakes and a pretty smooth run with getting the kids off to school.
Because its national volunteer week and I work as a volunteer coordinator and they had the volunteers awards day at old Parliament House so I got to take a bunch of volunteers out for a fancy pants morning tea at old parli which was awesome because i enjoyed their company and I love food especially free food.
Then because i was there I dropped into the Aboriginal tent embassy and there was a bit of an impromptu women’s circle happening and its so awesome to see the next generation of strong women leaders especially with passing of some very important aunties last years.
I then went to the school, I am helping a year two class at my kids school write a song aboutCanberra and so I did that and it was soooooo much fun and they loved the song and it was so rewarding.
Then after school me and the kids came home and instead of doing house work I hung out with them and helped my little boy write a story, then I made this awesome dinner and the kids ate all of their food with no bribing needed. Then getting the kids ready for bed happened with no hiccups which is so rare.
And then I went out with my bestie who I haven’t seen in ages. And we went to Smiths alternative which is really special because 2 friends who are really dedicated to live independent music recently brought the place and done it up as an awesome venue and i was sl glad to finally see it and they booked me into do a gig.
so anyway some friends Of mine were playing tonight who i always love to hear and to top the nights entertainment there was a girl who I hadn’t heard play before and she was just amazingly amazing jazzy bluesy soul voice. I love nothing more then going to a gig and being blown away by someone’s talent especially when it’s unexpected.
And here’s the other very special thing that happened and topped my day into being my favourite day of 2013 and that is I met this beautiful girl and we were having this really good time laughing and carrying on and then I realised she looked exactly like a friend of mine exact same eyes and smile and facial expression and this special friend she reminded me of has only recently died under horrible circumstances and for a moment today it was like she was alive and with me there laughing. Beat that tomorrow…
